The stakes of the security around stadiums

The problem of security around stadiums is global, and C-UAS is a new challenge that adds to existing needs: guaranteeing fluid access for several thousand spectators in a short space of time, while carrying out ticket checks and security checks: bag checks, detection of dangerous items, etc. During major events, several hundred security agents can be mobilized on site.

UAS can be a potential threat in several ways: disrupting the show with partisan banners, as has already been observed on several occasions, or taking illegal footage in breach of media rights.
The most dangerous threat to the players or the public would be the dropping of payloads, which could even create a crowd movement among the spectators.

Moreover, the environment is generally very complex: urban or semi-urban areas, and very dense in terms of radio emissions.

The presence of the public limits the range of solutions that can be used, and the festive nature of the event must be preserved.

What BOREADES can offer:

BOREADES was first used operationally in 2016 to protect the European Football Cup in Paris and has since been deployed on numerous occasions.

In its deployable configuration, BOREADES is suitable for event-based protection:
  • Simple and user-friendly for operators who generally carry out one-off tasks.
  • Equipped with an automatic calibration and mission preparation system.
  • Made up of compact equipment that is easy to transport or install on flat roofs, for example.
  • Able to identify friendly drones (law enforcement, media, etc.) and display them as such.
  • Suitable for use in urban environments, with appropriate sensors and effectors in terms of both performance and compliance with applicable constraints.

To go further

Additionally, BOREADES is interfaced with our CRIMSON security hypervision and crisis management solution, enabling it to be natively interoperable with the solutions deployed in security control centers, as well as communicating targeted information in the event of an alert to the smartphones of the hundreds of security guards deployed on site.
