CS GROUP, a recognized leader in the defense and security sector, has inaugurated its C-UAS system in Bole’s international airport in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), on Friday November 24th. This set up marks a new stage in CS GROUP’s international deployment and strengthens its leader’s position in the C-UAS sector.
“This new export reference for our C-UAS system, deployed in an international air hub that welcomes more than 12 million people every day, is a recognition of our expertise and our ability to deploy state-of-the-art solutions in complex and large-scale environments. The CS GROUP C-UAS system based on BOREADES solution enables to tackle the threat posed by mini and micro UAS, which can be detected, classified, identified, and neutralized. Commissioned at the end of November 2023, it responds to the need to modernize and protect the infrastructure of the airport operated by the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority and Ethiopian Airports, subsidiary of Ethiopian Airlines continent's leading airline, which is deploying an ambitious investment program.
A flagship for the French C-UAS leader
The airport of the Ethiopian capital, that hosts the headquarters of the African Union and of many international institutions, is the leading air hub in Africa, and the deployment of this C-UAS system also serves as a flagship for CS GROUP in Africa - Middle East area, as many heads of state and senior officials regularly visit the airport.
CS GROUP deployed this innovative system in a project that constitutes a strategic reference in Ethiopia thanks to FASEP funding, signed between French and Ethiopian authorities, and the unfailing support of the French Embassy in Ethiopia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of the Economy and Finance.
With this achievement, CS GROUP is strengthening its international presence and once again demonstrating its leadership in the C-UAS sector, with almost 50 operational systems already deployed in France.
